Patricia Krider discussed modern first ladies. She showed slides as she talked about the first ladies Eleanor Roosevelt through Pat Nixon, who served in what she termed a transitional period in the roles of first ladies.

“Bridging the Gap” was part of the 2015 Warren G. Harding Symposium, “The Modern First Ladies: Portraits in Contrast.” The symposium, a collaboration between The Ohio State University at Marion, the Ohio History Connection, the National First Ladies Library, Marion Technical College, Harding Home and Memorial, and Marion Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, was held in the Morrill Hall Auditorium of The Ohio State University at Marion. close
