Gary Walters, a former White House chief usher, showed slides as he discussed the modern first ladies he served. He served seven first families from 2000-2007.

“Portraits and Contrasts” was part of the 2015 Warren G. Harding Symposium, “The Modern First Ladies: Portraits in Contrast.” The symposium, a collaboration between The Ohio State University at Marion, the Ohio History Connection, the National First Ladies Library, Marion Technical College, Harding Home and Memorial, and Marion Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, was held in the Morrill Hall Auditorium of The Ohio State University at Marion. close
