Samuel Roberts is the author of Infectious Fear: Politics, Disease, and the Health Effects of Segregation, Nell Irvin Painter is the author of The History of White People, and Christopher Lebron is the author of The Color of Our Shame: Race and Justice in Our Time. The panel was moderated by Imani Perry, author of More Beautiful and More Terrible: The Embrace and Transcendence of Racial Inequality in the United States.
