President George H. W. Bush spoke to a group of small business leaders in the Joseph Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC, to propose $20 billion in tax breaks and reductions for small businesses, to be paid for through $132 in spending cuts also proposed by the president. In his remarks, the president lauded the spirit of entrepreneurship and owners of American small businesses. He also criticized the economic policies of Democratic presidential nominee Gov. Clinton, who he called, “Governor Taxes.” close
