Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson talked about cybersecurity issues. He provided an assessment of the computer glitches experienced by multiple U.S. companies, saying “the malfunctions at United and the New York Stock Exchange were not the result of any nefarious actor.” He also addressed the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) data breach involving personnel records and background investigation information. He said that intelligence officials had a leading suspect but weren’t ready to publicly identify the person. close
