Democratic Presidential nominee Gov. Clinton spoke to supporters at the Tom Harkin-Jean Jones Funfest in Indianola, Iowa. The steak fry was a fundraiser for the Senate candidacy of Jean Jones in Iowa. Gov. Clinton, standing on a platform with Rep. Smith, Sen. Harkin, Ms. Jones, and their families, and standing in front of a background of Iowa farmland, wore casual clothes to address the crowd attending the Democratic fundraiser. Gov. Clinton, after reciting a number of humorous remarks concerning the George H. W. Bush administration, criticized the Bush administration’s priorities in domestic programs and advanced his positions concerning farm issues and international trade among other election issues. Due to technical problems, the program ended prior to the end of Gov. Clinton’s remarks. close
