White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest responded to questions from reporters at his daily briefing. Among the topics discussed were the Iran nuclear agreement, reports of exaggerated gains in the campaign against ISIL*, that day’s South Sudan peace agreement, and a possible presidential run by Vice President Biden. At the top of the briefing, he commented on that day’s fatal shooting of a local reporter and photographer in Roanoke, Virginia, and Congress' role to help decrease gun violence.
