Senate Armed Services Committee Chair John McCain (R-Arizona) and three academics and foreign policy experts debated the merits of the pending nuclear agreement between the P5+1* powers and Iran. Senator McCain also talked about the politics of the deal, recognizing that President Obama has the votes necessary to sustain a veto of a disapproval resolution that was expected from congressional lawmakers. The Brookings Institution, which hosted this event, also conducted two real-time polls of event attendees and those watching at home, which showed a broad margin of participants supporting the deal with Iran.
