Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called for an end to the House Select Committee on Benghazi’s investigation of former Hillary Clinton after Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stated that the committee had damaged the former secretary of State’s poll numbers. The committee was set up to investigate a September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi in which U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens was killed. close
