Governor Gary Herbert (R-UT) outlined his vision for addressing problems at the state level and spoke about how to improve collaboration between officials at the state and federal levels of government. “States: Finding Solutions, Improving Lives” was his 2015-16 Chair’s Initiative as the new chair of the National Governors Association. Governor Herbert gave examples from Utah’s relationship between state and federal agencies. He responded to questions submitted by members of the audience. Topics included marriage equality, the Clean Air Act, the Affordable Care Act, Planned Parenthood, and his solution to lower the federal debt. close
