Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) spoke about the fiscal year 2016 defense authorization, which President Obama threatened a veto over use of war funds for non-war purposes. Senate McConnell called on the president to sign the bill, setting Pentagon programs and policy for the upcoming year. Senator Reid called the bill “political theater” because he said Democrats had enough votes in both the House and Senate to uphold a veto. close
