Hispanic members of Congress, interns, and activists were recognized at an annual gala. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, assisted in the presentation of the 2015 Chair’s Award to celebrity chef and restaurateur Jose Andres for his global humanitarian efforts. In her comments, she criticized Republican presidential candidates for what she called their “ugly rhetoric” and “extreme thinking” about immigration policy. The ceremony included a color guard, the national anthem, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Brian Moynihan participated with a video message.

The 38th Annual Awards Gala themed “Powering Growth and Influence” was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. close
