House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and his Republican leadership colleagues spoke to reporters after the weekly meeting of their party conference about the bipartisan budget deal. The two-year deal would increase spending by $80 billion over two years and would increase the federal borrowing limit through 2017. Representative Boehner listed the reasons why the agreement was a “good deal.” He also said that he agreed with Representative Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) criticism that the process “stinks.” In what might be his last congressional press conference, Speaker Boehner also answered questions about his legacy and the most memorable moments of his congressional career. close
