The highest ranking Cuban defector to the United States spoke to a meeting of the American Bar Association on the current political state of the government of Cuba including why Castro was still in power and when will he fall. He also discussed events in the history of U.S.-Cuban relations, including the Bay of Pigs incident and when the trade embargo would be lifted. Gen. Del Pino defected to the U.S. with his family in 1987. He also responded to questions from the audience following his prepared remarks. close
