Democratic Senator Wyche Fowler and former Georgia State Senator Paul Coverdell participated in a televised debate. The two candidates debated the issues in the Georgia Senate race, including tax policies and the House bank scandal, while standing at separate podia in a television studio. During the first half of the debate, the candidates responded to questions from political reporter Bill Nigut the event’s moderator. During the second half responded to questions from each other.
