Members of the British House of Commons debated a motion from the Labour Party to review the British government’s energy policies. The debate took place at the same time demonstrations were taking place outside the Parliament building over the nation’s energy policies. The policies came into question earlier in the week when the British government backed down from an earlier announcement that it would close 31 of the 50 remaining coal mines in England. close
