Commissioner Kessler, Secretary Sullivan and Deputy Commissioner Taylor spoke in a news conference to announce new regulations concerning the labeling of the nutritional value of consumer food products. The new regulations, which will be mandatory in 1994, will regulate the use of the words, “light” and “diet” as well as make nutritional value of food items easier to determine quickly. Dr. Sullivan displayed an example of the new label during his remarks. close
