Senator Laxalt holds a news conference to discuss the recent conclusion of his 1983 libel suit against the Sacramento Bee. He reads from the retraction article in the Bee which states that there was absolutely no evidence of casino skimming nor of improper financing of a hotel by Senator Laxalt or his associates, nor that the Senator had acted to hinder any government investigation. Laxalt’s attorney is present and both men answer questions from reporters. close
