President Bill Clinton signed an Executive Order defining abortion rights which he ends the ban on the use of fetal tissue in medical research, suspends the Title X regulation known as the “gag rule,” allows the use of military facilities for privately funded abortions, and expedites the Food and Drug Administration’s review of the French abortion drug, RU-486. President Clinton then responded to a few questions from reporters about his appointment of Zoe Baird to the position of U.S. Attorney General and the subsequent removal of her name from consideration for that office. close
