President Clinton, accompanied by Delegate Norton and Mayor Kelly, visited a road construction crew on South Dakota Avenue SE in Washington, DC. He sat on a porch with the workers. The president shook hands with supporters and crew members as cameras followed him throughout his visit. At one point during the visit, the president could be heard swearing at an advance person about whether the mayor and the DC delegate were to be allowed to proceed to the porch. close
