Commerce Department Appropriations
Commerce Secretary Ron Brown testified before a House Appropriations subcommittee, requesting $3.5 billion in funding for the next fiscal year. Sec. Brown spoke about changes in the global economy and the U.S. failure to keep pace with those changes. He said the Department of Commerce is in a unique position to help realize the Clinton Administration’s goals in the areas of trade, technology and minority business. close
