The Senate continued debating it’s economic stimulus package, a $16.3 billion spending proposal that would create funds for various public works projects and economic initiatives. The Clinton Administration estimates that 500,000 jobs would be created. Some senators offered an amendment that would provide funds for jobs but hold off on funding for other parts of the stimulus package. Senator Bryd, using Senate rules, blocked those amendments. In other action, the Senate approved the Fiscal year 1994 Budget Resolution, a blueprint to reduce the Federal deficit. close
