Professors Eric Rauchway, author of The Money Makers: How Roosevelt and Keynes Ended the Depression, Defeated Fascism, and Secured a Prosperous Peace, and Kathryn Olmstead, author of Right Out of California: The 1930s and the Big Business Roots of Modern Conservatism, talked about their respective books on President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s legislative efforts. Rauchway’s book is about President Roosevelt’s team of economic advisers, John Maynard Keynes, Harry Dexter White, and Cordell Hull, and their role in the president’s legislative efforts to remedy the Great Depression. Olmsted’s book is about how President Roosevelt’s New Deal policies affected business leaders in California and paved the way for modern conservatism. close
