In remarks at the Rutgers University’s Center for Law and Justice, President Obama announced new criminal justice reform measures. He announced new grants to help former prisoners re-enter society and the workplace following their incarceration and the elimination of requirements that job applicants check a box regarding a criminal record on their initial job application. His remarks were made at a roundtable discussion of people involved ni the criminal justice system, including participants in the New Jersey Scholarship and Transformative Education in Prisons (NJ-STEP) program. close
