Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen testified at a hearing on monetary policy and bank regulation and supervision. She told committee members the U.S. economy was performing well and that an interest rate rise could happen in December following the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, if data supports an increase. Much of the hearing focused on the central bank’s regulatory powers under the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial regulations law. close
