Panelists talked about the effectiveness of the Brown v. Board of Education II ruling and its lasting effects. In the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka case, the Supreme Court ruled that public school segregation was unlawful because separate schools were inherently unequal. In 1955, the Supreme Court determined that the task of desegregation should be carried out by the district courts. This decision came to be known as Brown v. Board of Education II. close
