President Obama announced his administration’s formal rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline proposal saying it “would not serve the interests of the United States.” He outlined the reasons for the decision saying the project would not provide economic benefits, lower gas prices or provide energy security. The president said the nation should instead focus on a national infrastructure plan to create jobs and reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. close
