Race and the Justice System, Introduction Margaret Low Smith introduced a day-long series of panel discussions on race relations and criminal justice. Then Ta-Nehisi Coates, national correspondent for The Atlantic, and James Bennet, the magazine’s president and editor-in-chief, talked about the intersection of race and criminal justice in the United States.
