Professor Adam Rothman talked about the impact of the advent of the Industrial Revolution on the flow of migrants from Europe to the Americas in the 19th century. He argued that some of the factors that contributed to the European exodus were an increase in the population and a decrease in the cost of transportation. He talked about how many migrants also moved for higher wages or to escape political pressure. close
