Panelists talked about combating violent extremism and radicalization. All agreed that there was no one reason why a person would chooses to be radicalized. The participants also agreed that most of the radicalization and recruitment by groups such as ISIL* in the U.S. was via the Internet.

“Radicalization” was part of the 30th annual briefing of the Overseas Security Advisory Council at the State Department.
