Dr. Kenneth and Mamie Clark, psychologists who were also husband and wife, used two dolls that were identical except for their skin color. In the study they asked children a series of questions such as, “which is the nice doll?” and, “which is the bad doll?” The children were then asked to identify the doll that looked most like them.
