Brown v. Board of Education: "Doll Test" Dr. Kenneth and Mamie Clark, psychologists who were also husband and wife, used two dolls that were identical except for their skin color. In the study they asked children a series of questions such as, “which is the nice doll?” and, “which is the bad doll?” The children were then asked to identify the doll that looked most like them. Lawyers in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka used the results of the study to show the impact of segregation on African American children. close
