Captain Melissa Wells-Petry, an author of “Exclusion: Homosexuals and the Right to Serve,” spoke to a luncheon audience to defend the ban against homosexuals in the U.S. military. In her remarks, she reflected on her participation in court cases concerning homosexuals in the military and said removing the ban would affect the fighting ability of soldiers in the ranks of the U.S. military.
