Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) spoke on the floor about the San Bernardino shootings, terrorism, and Congress. He said Americans get little leadership from Congress and the White House, resulting in “so many of our people are running to demagoguing leaders.” He added, “There were some genuinely dreadful things said on our national stage yesterday.” And, later, “If you’re worried about the obviously over-the-top rhetoric from unserious presidential candidates, perhaps it would be useful for those of us who have the actual job of protecting the constitution to tell the truth.” close
