Army Colonel Steven Warren, spokesperson for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, spoke by teleconference from Baghdad to brief reporters at the Pentagon on U.S. military operations against ISIL.* He showed unclassified satellite maps. Colonel Warren confirmed that coalition airstrikes had killed the Islamic State financial minister Abu Salah along with two other ISIL senior leaders in late November 2015. In addition, he said U.S. military airstrikes over the past week had killed 350 ISIL fighters in the Iraqi city of Ramadi but enemy fighters still controled a large portion of central Ramadi.
