Attorney Howard Bashman spoke about the threats to free speech on college campuses and the consequences restriction on free speech could have for the future. He described some of the dangers for the future as the present “bubble wrap generation” of college students with “helicopter parents” compounded with colleges run by a “bureaucratic class” might be setting a stage for the restriction of their rights in the future. Professor Sasha Volokh added his comments, including on the differences between liberals and conservatives and left wing and right wing, and moderated the discussion.
