The Newseum hosted a panel discussion commemorating the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters in Paris. Panelists, including journalists and first amendment lawyers, discussed the impact of this attack on freedom of the press and other free expression rights. On January 7, 2015, Islamic extremists attacked the Charlie Hebdo headquarters killing 12 people. The magazine has published a 32-page special edition to mark the one-year anniversary of the attack.
