Japanese-Americans During World War II George Takei talked about the treatment of Japanese-Americans during World War II. He spoke about his family being forced to leave their home and being sent to a racetrack, where they were assigned a horse stall to live in. At the time of the program Mr. Takei was starring in the Broadway musical Allegiance, which was based on his story of living in Japanese-American internment camps as a child. Kermit Roosevelt, the great-great-grandson of former President Teddy Roosevelt, moderated. close
