Former Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) previewed the February 1, 2016 Iowa caucuses and talked about his endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. He emphasized former Secretary of State Clinton’s work for women and her past experience while defending her on her integrity and issues such as her State Department electronic mail and the terrorist attacks in Benghazi. He also discussed the appeal of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and his expectations for caucus night. Other topics included possible health care reforms and changes to the Affordable Care Act. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for Iowa voters, from the temporary C-SPAN studio in Des Moines. A video clip was shown of Senator Harkin campaigning on January 10, 1992. close
