Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy, Bob Perciasepe, and others talked about the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan, which sets emissions standards for power plants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as its impact on local communities. Administrator McCarthy also spoke about the water contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan, and said the EPA would conduct a comprehensive audit of the state’s water management system. The speakers responded to questions from the mayors in the audience. To close the program St. Louis Mayor Slay presented a best practices report on his city’s project, “Helping People by Helping the Monarch Butterfly, A City’s Role.”
