In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the nomination of Justice Louis Brandeis to the U.S. Supreme Court, a panel including Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg discusses his contributions to American democracy. President Woodrow Wilson nominated Boston lawyer Louis Brandeis to the United States Supreme Court on January 28, 1916. In June of that year, he became the first Jew to sit on the nation’s highest court. He served until 1939. close
