Eric Klinek discusses his 2014 Temple University dissertation titled, “The Army’s Orphans: The United States Army Replacement System in the European Campaign, 1944-1945.” In his thesis, Mr. Klinek argues that no one has previously done a detailed study of reinforcement policy, and that replacement soldiers were often rushed into combat without proper training and equipment. close
