The 2015 Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History, worth $50,000, was awarded on March 21, 2016, in New York City. Finalists for the prize participated in a panel discussion about their books prior to the award winner being announced.

The finalists were: Matthew Davenport, author of First Over There: The Attack of Cantigny, America’s First Battle of World War I; David Preston, author of Braddock’s Defeat: The Battle of the Monongahela and the Road to Revolution; Nicholas Stargardt, author of The German War: A Nation Under Arms, 1939-1945; and T.J. Stiles, author of Custer’s Trials: A Life on the Frontier of a New America.
