President Clinton spoke in a “town meeting” with an audience of college students during a trip to the West Coast to promote his administration’s economic program. Sitting outside on a stool in the shade, the president advocated his job creation program and discussed other aspects of the administration’s agenda, including health care reform. Following his prepared remarks, President Clinton responded to questions from members of the audience. He also responded to protesters who interrupted his prepared remarks. close
