Felicia Bell and Rickey Brown talked about the Rosa Parks Museum at Troy University. Civil rights activist Rosa Parks is credited with starting the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 when she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery City bus. Ms. Bell shared the story of the 381 day citywide boycott, and Rickey Brown gave a tour of the unique areas inside the Museum and explained the impact the boycott had on the city.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Montgomery, Alabama, from March 19-20 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
