A political ad from the Sanders presidential campaign was shown. The ad, “Erica,” was released in New York on April 5, 2016. It was a new version of the Sanders ad “It’s Not Over” released in South Carolina February 16, 2016. It featured Erica Garner, the daughter of Eric Garner, a man who died in police custody in New York City. It also contained newly discovered film footage of Bernie Sanders as a 21-year-old student at the University of Chicago being arrested while protesting segregation in Chicago public schools. close
