President Obama delivered the first of his 2016 commencement addresses to the graduating class of the historically black college of Howard University after receiving an honorary doctor of laws degree. He gave his advice on creating change and talked about having confidence, an awareness of injustice and struggle, developing a strategy for change, and the importance of listening to those you may disagree with. The ceremony was held on the Upper Quadrangle of the main campus. close
