President Johnson’s December 1963 calls, shortly after the assassination of President Kennedy.

The president talked about the Federal budget and key appointments for Latin America. He talked about foreign aid, agriculture, tax and civil rights bills. Participants include Agriculture Secretary Orville Freeman, Labor Secretary Willard Wirtz, and NASA Administrator James Webb, as well as Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield and House Speaker John McCormack.

He also discussed a dinner party with his wife Lady Bird.
