Telephone lines were open for viewer responses to the question, “Does immigration make the U.S. stronger or weaker?”

Throughout the program clips of interviews taped on April 25 and 26, 2016, in Laredo, Texas, were shown. Mayor Pete Saenz talked about the history of his city and its economic ties to Mexico, as well as the undocumented population Laredo. Frank Longoria of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol described the increase in undocumented people crossing the border into the U.S. from Mexico trying to flee violence in their countries. Environmentalist Tom Vaughn talked about the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on the environment.
