President Obama delivered a statement after a private meeting with families of victims of the June 12, 2016, terrorist attack at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. President Obama was joined in Orlando by Vice President Biden. The president said the families of the 49 people killed were part of the American family. President Obama vowed to destroy ISIL* and to push for reforms to gun laws. The president spoke to the press after he and the vice president laid flowers at the memorial at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts near city hall.
