Abortion rights advocates spoke to reporters after the release of the Supreme Court decision in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt. The case challenged the constitutionality of a Texas law that imposed new rules for abortion clinics and doctor that forced clinics to close, thereby narrowing access to abortion services. The court in a 5-3 vote struck down the law, ruling that the law is an unconstitutional “undue burden” on women seeking an abortion.
